Our anniversary trip was full of amazing adventures, but one we haven’t discussed yet is where we stayed. We had some DVC points to burn, so we decided to stay in the (kind of) recently refurbished Cabins at Fort Wilderness. They were adorable!
We arrived pretty early in the day, so our cabin wasn’t ready, but we dropped our bags and grabbed our golf cart (a MUST if you’re staying at the campgrounds!) before heading over to Epcot.

We mostly just wandered around Epcot until our Geo-82 res, but made sure we stopped by Guardians so I could FINALLY hear September. We also stopped by the Travel Agent thank you event and got a nice Stitch photo-op for 626 day:

Anyways, the campgrounds. We LOVED our cabin (2314). There were just so many adorable touches! We parked and the first thing we saw was our Welcome Home sign. Note: normally this is where you park your golf cart to charge it but our cart wouldn’t charge. Whomp whomp.

You walk into the kitchen and living room. True to current DVC standards, this the cabin included a full kitchen since it is more than a studio hotel room. Next to the kitchen is the queen-sized Murphy-bed couch/living area. A nice feature on the Murphy-beds is the themed artwork. The nighttime art is usually a related piece to the daytime art, which is adorable. I stupidly didn’t get a photo of the nighttime art, but it was them making s’mores around their campfire.

Beyond the kitchen and living area is the bedroom, complete with bunk beds and queen bed. There’s some storage under the bunk beds, and a tiny dresser/open closet, but that’s pretty much it for storage. One thing we commented on was that if you were actually sleeping 6 adults for more than a couple of days, you better plan to have a plan for your stuff! I’d also note, I’m 5’4” and a medium build and I legit questioned if I’d fit on the top bunk, so keep that in mind.

The theming is on point though!
Our other complaint was the single bathroom. For similar sleeping arrangements in the Art of Animation family suites, you get two full bathrooms. Here, you get one, plus the toilet isn’t separated. There is a bonus sink just outside with the magnifying mirror that can be used as a vanity, which is a nice touch.

Would we stay here again? Probably if we had points to burn. It was definitely fun and nice feeling like we weren’t really on Disney property. And if we decided to road trip, we could bring Peggy with us as the campgrounds are dog-friendly. But in a vacuum, I’d probably stick with the hotel-style resorts.
